How does tattoo removal work?
During a laser treatment, strong pulses of light are sent to the tattoo that break down the ink particles of the tattoo. This allows the ink to be more easily transported through the body and the tattoo to disappear. Proper aftercare after laser tattooing is important for healing.

After having a tattoo lasered, you may experience some itching and red or swollen skin. This usually subsides within 1 to 3 hours. The first few days after getting the tattoo lasered some blisters or scabs may appear. This is normal and nothing to worry about. However, it is important to try to touch these scabs and blisters as little as possible so that they can heal completely and no infections occur.
How many treatments tattoo lasering?
It takes several treatments to completely remove a tattoo. How many treatments you need depends on a number of factors such as the size, depth of the tattoo, skin type, ink colors, individual lymphatic system and location of the tattoo. However, you can see results after the first treatments and the tattoo will fade more and more.

What is the best aftercare after removing your tattoo? There are some things best to avoid after laser treatment. We list them for you:
- Keep the treated area thoroughly dry and clean
- Avoid excessive sun and do not go under a tanning bed during the entire treatment. Always use sunscreen on the area
- Do not shower too hot and do not go to the sauna for the first 2 weeks after treatment.
- Avoid strenuous physical activity and sweating on the treated area.
- Stay away from scabs and blisters.
